Our Beliefs

Our Message
We came to Cambodia to share a story, the only true story that explains life’s most important questions and satisfies man’s deepest longings. The video below summarizes this good news well:

Our Statement of Faith (April 2013)

1. Revelation & Scripture
We believe God reveals general knowledge of Himself at all periods of time, to all peoples, in all places through creation, conscience, and history. We believe God has revealed specific knowledge of Himself to particular people at definite times through His living and written Word. We believe that the whole of Scripture, down to its very words is breathed-out by God. The 66 books of the Old and New Testament canon are inerrant, authoritative, and sufficient.

2. God & Creation
God eternally exists as one God, in three persons, and each person as fully God. We believe God is incomprehensible and knowable, transcendent and immanent, independent, immutable, infinite, omnipresent, and unified. He is all-knowing, all-wise, faithful, and true. He is good, merciful, gracious, patient, loving, holy, peaceful, righteous, just, jealous, wrathful, willful, free, sovereign, glorious, perfect, beautiful, and blessed. We believe God created the universe out of nothing, speaking it into existence in six, successive, 24-hour days. He continues to sustain His creation by His word and direct its course according to His sovereign plan.

3. Angels & Satan
We believe all angels were created by God to worship Him with loud and joyful praise in heaven and to serve God and believers. Satan is a fallen angel; he is a deceitful liar, a destructive lion, and a powerful prince who roams the earth to oppose God and His people and establish his own kingdom. He is a limited creature, and will be utterly defeated and cast into the lake of fire to suffer eternal torment.

4. Man & Sin
We believe God created man and woman in His own image and commanded them to fill and rule the earth. God designed marriage as a life-long covenant between one man and one woman. We believe Adam first brought sin into the world by his disobedience. His sin is imputed to all so that every person is born guilty of sin, wholly depraved, and completely unable to change apart from divine grace.

5. Christ & His Atonement
We believe Jesus Christ is fully divine, fully human, with two distinct natures completely united in one person. We believe he was born in the likeness of men, lived a sinless life, suffered and died on a cross, was buried in a tomb, rose from the dead three days later, and ascended up into heaven. We believe Christ died in our place, bearing the punishment of our sin.

6. Salvation
We believe salvation is a work of God by His grace. It is rooted in the person and work of Christ and accomplished by the Spirit through the means of the Word and faith. Salvation is all of grace from beginning to end; God chose us, called us, converted us, regenerated us, justified us, adopted us, and united us with Christ; He is sanctifying us and will glorify us one day when Christ appears. To that end He preserves us as we persevere.

7. The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is a person and is fully divine. Though the Spirit was at work throughout the OT era, His full ministry began on the day of Pentecost and continues today. The Spirit applies salvation to believers, indwells and fills them, gifts and empowers them, teaches and enlightens them, comforts and assures them, leads and unifies them, and assists them in prayer and worship.

8. The Church
We believe the church began with the coming of the Spirit at Pentecost. The church is both universal and local; the universal church is the whole number of people in every place and from every race who have been baptized by the Spirit into the body of Christ. A local church is an organized group of baptized believers who regularly meet together under the direction of appointed leaders to receive biblical teaching, remember the Lord’s Supper, fellowship, pray, and worship God. The church is marked by love, truth, unity, and purity, and her purpose is to magnify God by exalting the Lord Jesus Christ, edifying the body of Christ, and evangelizing the lost.

9. The Future
We believe Jesus Christ is coming again personally, bodily, and gloriously. He will resurrect the dead saints, gather up the living saints, and transform them all into His likeness. He will overthrow all evil and will reign on earth for a thousand years. Believers will be evaluated and rewarded, receiving the joy of an eternal relationship with God in heaven. Unbelievers will be evaluated and punished, receiving the torment of eternal punishment in hell.
